Hi! I'm Rosie Robin and I look after the Babies

Our focus in the Baby Room is largely on ‘First Experiences’. For many babies, this is their first experience of being away from their primary carers, their first experience of being around other babies and older children, their first experience of many activities and a great deal other ‘firsts’ along the way.  We work to make these firsts as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. We understand that this can be an unsettling and emotional transition for parents as much as for babies and Team Baby is here to support you as much as to settle our babies.  We will be turning to you to ensure we understand your baby best and will take your lead in all things ‘your baby’; nobody knows your baby better. If it’s important to you, it’s important to us, however trivial it may seem!
In the baby room, we will be supporting our babies to separate happily from their primary carers  and begin developing their sense of self. This begins quite simply with feeling their own weight on the floor, hearing their own voices, seeing their own reflection and observing their effect upon the world around them. We will be giving our babies lots of opportunities to play on their tummies both indoors and outdoors and for more mobile babies,  there will be plenty of opportunities to roll, crawl and pull up to standing. Active busy babies are developing gross motor skills as well as crucial brain development. Just what we want!
Our babies have lots of opportunities to explore exciting Treasure Baskets that allow them to start making simple decisions for themselves as well as provide opportunities to interact and share with other babies. We will be singing lots and surrounding our babies with tuneful language.
